I’ve been an avid user of the VFF’s KSO’s for the last year using them around the house, while going for a walk and especially when rowing (they just provide a lot better feel than any shoe I know, giving instant feedback). I’ve got the brown pair of KSO’s as depicted below.
As you can see, they fit like gloves and provide relative good protection to you’re feet (on the picture we were walking on a very rocky path through the woods.
As I decided I needed some new ones, I went to the VFF site and while buying the KSO’s there was relatively limited choice, this has changed. There’s now an abundance of possible VFF’s ranging from the Classic towards the Bikila LS which has shoelaces. After long consideration I finally choose the Komodo’s. They look great and have a somewhat thicker sole than the KSO’s.
I’ve been using them now for a few days and they feel different from the KSO’s. They feel more solid and sturdy and the sole is somewhat thicker than the sole of the VFF’s. I have only been walking around on them, after I’ve tried them in the boat I know whether this also hampers while rowing.
